In tennyson there is a old flour mill getting renovated with a big crane on site. The view would be cool as it over looks a rail yard. bris river and city views in the other direction.
I can see it from work, if only.

Yup. Most of the medium-sized cranes move in the wind.

I'm not an engineer, but I'd say if they were allowed to sway because of that, there'd be more chance of collapsing. Although, cranes do move horizontally, so that motor bit there might allow a bit of slack or something.
