What on earth is "drift triking" ?????Pussinboots wrote:that is very sensible Peterh13! I've often wished I had a helmet on when I've cracked my head on a low pipe or drain..but we already carry so much stuff as it is, I don't think we can manage anything more.. We wear helmets when climbing and drift triking, but only head lamps when draining....
A road bicycle helmet or similar would be good. They tend to have a lot of ventilation which means many mounting surfaces and locking points.peterh13 wrote:I don't want to use it as a helmet so I don't bang my head, but more of a platform on which to mount lights and a camera and any other gadgets I can think of.

Don't waste money on a helmet, just walk behind someone taller than you. They'll let you know (possibly with a shriek) when there's something to look out for, and as an added bonus they'll clean up most of the spider webs for you!
