I was tempted to stay a night in a abandoned research complex before it got demolished a year ago but just never got around to it. Had running water, working toilets and showers as well - was even able to charge my camera battery and LED floodlight insidekjwx wrote: For the past two years, I've been living in an abandoned Catholic girls boarding school here in the capital.
Now I have the opposite problem: Find it hard to sleep without the semi-regular chirp of a nearly-dead smoke alarm or four.theedge wrote:Only problem was how to sleep with the creepy noises coming from the air-conditioning.
Think that can be arranged, Echo. Organised my visit to RMH - which is the morning of April 23 or 24 BTW - through my job. Hopefully you'll be free around then to play tour guide and I can return the favour at the hospital. Will flick you a PM, think I have some paperwork you might be interested in.Echo wrote:How'd you organise to get access to the tunnels under RMH? Can I come by any chance really wanted to check those out.
Am actually writing about home for UE Mag.Midget wrote: But welcome to the forums (again), and please tell us about the abandonment you've been living in. Sometimes I hear stories of explorers going overseas and just sleeping on rooftops to save money as well.
Wow. That's quite some story!kjwx wrote: I've certainly met a lot of explorers since moving in. Best story I have is of one tenant finding a group filming a Disney-themed porno in the college gym early one Sunday; obviously the videographer and his princess-attired models got to finish first before being asked to leave.
There are several disadvantages - like constant police visits, finding strangers rifling through our cupboards, vandals turning off power to the entire complex, and it being difficult to get mail delivered - but I love it.
Apparently there's footage online somewhere but I've yet to find it.d0dg3r wrote: Wow. That's quite some story!

There a particular wagon I can get in on here?
Like both equally but probably abandonments please ... We don't have too many derelict sites here in Wellington so I'm picking I'll be green with envy throughout my entire visit.Echo wrote:Are you more interested in drains or abandonments, just trying to think of what locations are best to show you.
Will see what I can do, Crispex ...Crispex wrote:![]()

I wish ... Have spent many a night at work looking online for the damn thing with no joy - and I speak pretty fluent Google.Midget wrote:Disney-themed porno? PIcs/vids or it didn't happen.
Ah well, there are worse things that will ruin your childhood.kjwx wrote:I wish ... Have spent many a night at work looking online for the damn thing with no joy - and I speak pretty fluent Google.Midget wrote:Disney-themed porno? PIcs/vids or it didn't happen.
The vision of one skanky Disney princess in blue is permanently seared into my brain. Don't think I'll ever be able to watch one of Walt's movies again.
