That would be pretty amazing. Is Perth replacing all the old venues? Did you ever have a look at the entertainment centre when that was being demolished in 2011?

Never did get a good look at that one, although it seems like a few people did from pics and vid's online.

Not sure what the story is with development in Perth region, heaps of places are getting redeveloped or torn down, doesn't take long in most cases, and long term derelict sites seem to be fairly well secured and guarded...

Some (most) of the largest cranes in Australia have been in Perth the last couple of years with all the new development happening in the city as well. Maybe I should get back there again soon.

There's dozens of cranes around at the moment within a few Km of the CBD, had a crack at the only one i'v found with a ladder to the tip of the jib, standing next to the red light on top was cool, not that big really, only about 90m, lost the photo's :? but was a fun climb...

The pending demolition was all over the news today, aparrently the roof will fall down once the power is disconnected, could be interesting...

I'v been told it's like a big balloon, positive air pressure is the only thing holding up the roof

True about the air pressure. Walking in there is like walking into a pressure chamber. There were 2 pressure type doors you would walk through when entering from memory.

Thanx for the update.
If I come over I'll be sure to contact you, just sorting it out now (flights are expensive due to school holidays).

The place is about two thirds demolished now, havn't got any pics, there's a few online.

I never did end up having a crack at this place, was put off by the camera's in the surrounding casino carpark, secca's are red hot round there, no great loss although it would have been cool to get to roof level...

The demo company claimed 9 weeks ago that they would have it down in 10 weeks, I doubt it will even be done in 10 weeks from now.

Noticed that the pub I posted on here is gone now too, was only a K or 2 from the dome, developers and demo companies don't f*ck around in Perth...
