Did anybody else hear on the news today about the 2 blokes busted climbing up the story bridge? I've done it before without any hassle at all. Just wondering if they were urbexers or just a pair of idiots. Apparently one of them was from nsw.

I seen a segment about the 8 million dollar fence going on the bridge but no climbers mentioned.

Wish I could find some good, big bridges to climb. I wonder if Anzac Bridge could be done...

Give the story a crack if you haven't already. It's a walk in the park.

Unregulated high-risk activity? Who the f--k made this up?
Stupidity helps you make the first step and sense gets you out alive.

Mpi, I'd be keen to give it a shot again, Would be a good one to add to the next tour if everyone is feeling brave enough. And yeah unregulated high risk activity puts it in the same class as BASE jumping which is completely illegal in Aus... I dunno who comes up with this s*** either lol

Anzac bridge is now locked & alarmed. The doors at the bottom weren't alarmed at first, & a few people climbed up inside the towers but never came out at the top because the hatch had a sensor.
Now with the cameras & alarms it's almost impossible to get into without getting caught.

Around this time last year, they were doing works on the bridge, under the deck etc, and it was surprisingly accessible... Not that I speak from experience or anything 8-)

I saw some maintenance on Anzac a month or two ago, but wasn't bothered to check it out because it looked pretty small scale.

That's an understatement. The bridge has been undergoing rather large scale works to install elevators within the uprights, for maintenance. There is and has been 24hr security underneath (prior to this your could just walk straight up to the pylons). Myself and an explorer from Boston had a close look one night, without much success, but we did confirm a lot of suspicions regarding what kind of surveillance is actually there; PIRs, cameras and onsite security.
