Hi everyone,

I've been exploring ever since I was a child growing up in the Australian bush, where my mother would shoo me off at the start of the day and say "Go on, I don't want to see you for 6 hours, go have fun." With double handed shooing motions and a smile.
Wandering and understanding whatever landscape I'm in has always been a driving force.

For along time the sites I explored were abandoned quarries, random caves the occasional abandoned house or shack until a few years ago when I moved to Melbourne and started living in an abandoned building out of a thirst for adventure and throwing myself totally into the urban environment.

From there and after meeting people into UE in Melbourne things rapidly progressed, with my most recent being a rural abando (I'm back in the country). I've a back log of adventures and images that I'll post up soon.

I'll be in Germany for the first half of the year studying as of march and then to Hong Kong for the second half of the year, so I'll definitely be exploring over there. I really do hope to hit some eastern block locations as well. Ukraine/Russia would be insane to explore. And I'll be making some trips through China when studying in Hong Kong.

I'm keen for some meetups and explores before I go.

Also people may see some cross posting from uer when I get lazy.

Cheers guys.

Welcome to UEGA!

Interesting living in abandonment story, what were your thoughts and feedback after that experience?

Also if you get to go and explore in Russia/Ukraine be careful of small villages , that you don't get mugged. So be prepared to dress very simple and don't wave your Iphone/jewelery around too much.

China is also a place where you need to be careful, especially any government office that has army guards in front. I heard that you could get questioned, even if you just stood there looking at the building! Best thing is to not look and just keep walking.

I also did not see many people taking pictures where I was in Guangzhou so I followed everyone as well - except when I was in the "clean" and touristy areas.

There were however some interesting looking decaying buildings, but still I would not risk it unless I knew there area well and had someone local with me.
Just a harmless explorer. No need to waste taxes checking me ;)

Welcome! Pics 3 and 4 look very interesting. I've not really been into abandonments after the last few were pretty much shells.
