a quick drive through a week or two ago, the gates were open although i realised later it was because its used as a passage through to construction on the land behind it.. didnt explore any of the buildings but might be fun to go back later as a group :)

From the Wiki:
".. the El Caballo Blanco theme park at Catherine Field near the Sydney suburb of Narellan. Its main attraction was its Andalusian dancing stallions, but the park also featured miniature Fallabella horses, and a number of non-equestrian related amusements such as waterslides, train rides, and a small wildlife zoo..
.. For many years after the closure of the Catherine Field complex [2007], it was used for storing items such as carpets, until a fire engulfed much of the building housing the main show arena."

i found a video of the place from 2011 and from my shots in nov 2012 it looks exactly the same, i think its too far from the road or people just dont know its there, there is a little bit of grafitti but not much.. and the video showed the indoor pool, which up until then i had no idea it existed, wow.

a few phone shots

Ive also driven past it a few times, always wanted to go in.
Looks like it would be worth the drive out from the city.

Yeah i always used to see it on the drive out to Oran Park but had no idea what it was, i just used to think the gates were cool...

if i was with a few people id have been more game to get out of the car, but the buildings are in such good condition, im not even sure which one was the one/s that burnt down, but there were other buildings i didnt get the chance to look at before i was startled off by the trucks passing through, there is a big wooden house near a lake, and danm i want to see that indoor pool!!!!!! however, that building [in the pics] thats like a big huge tin thing made me interested but quite uncomfortable i felt as if i was being watched when i was in that section of the park :-/

the pool.. thats the main thing i want to hunt down now lol.. i actually found this place looking up abandoned or former theme parks in nsw [which there are surprisingly quite a few of them] and had just left Adventureland which was a bit of a fizzle but i found the giant super slide that's on Google maps [it didn't survive he recent storms]

i know that feeling, where something isnt right and its as if there is presence of someone/something. You did the right thing by leaving that place when you felt it. I know i do, and im sure it happens for a reason.

That heart-stopping moment when there's suddenly a crunch of glass and soft voices.

I went here a couple of days ago at night, I don't think it's going to be there for much longer as there were excavators on the site near the canteen.
I walked around a fair bit but didn't explore the whole place.
I didn't get to the water slide (if it still exists) or the pool in the house, but I'm pretty sure if you follow the dirt road past the canteen, stables and stuff that bends to the right, it's down that way. I'll have to check it out again soon.

I've also been there! Pretty cool place, I have some pics but I don't have the time to upload and link them at the moment. They weren't that good anyway but they did include the old slide. I think someone might have stolen it from memory?

Was here over the weekend, early Saturday morning. Surprised at how awesome it is, there's a fair bit to check out.
Pool is awesome, heaps of buildings, sheds and stuff, all open.
Def worth the trip.

There was a guy working, not sure what he was doing. He said we could stay but he clearly would have preferred us to leave. Apparently, the developers are on the lookout for people in there and will fine but he may or may not have been just saying that to encourage us to leave. Either way, it will be new houses pretty soon. Might only be another month or two before it's all pulled down.

I went back here tonight because I was bored and it's quite close to home, it's absolutely covered in graffiti now and is still quite boring haha.

Was good way back in 2004-2005 when most of the amusements where still there (albeit broken). Then the rable discovered it & within months it was trashed.

i thought id drop by [im still after the pool lol and wanted to see how far construction had gone] last weekend to see

you cant get in from the front anymore, so i drove along to the next entrance and thought id go from the next block, turns out the hotel next door to it is abandoned too, but the golf club atached to it isnt. Hotel has some bad vibes, man.

im sad that el cabello blanco is so messed up now, the closest house to the hotel i was trying to get in from was covered in graff saying METH!! ICE!! CRACK!!! and just, yuck :(

I'm fairly sure the hotel block is either being used as an office for the nearby construction workers or some of them are staying there.

yeah its definetly a new abandonment, but theres a sign on the door saying "Due to non patronage, this hotel is closed until further notice" i checked out maybe 2 rooms that had doors wide open, one had been smashed in, one was propped open by a door but it was just strange..
