Went up to Outer Harbour the other day in search of interesting locations. I parked at the Outer Harbour boat ramp (the one with the skid marks) and noticed a semi-walking trail had been fenced off, which I just went around with ease. I followed the trail for a while, which runs along the Port river on one side and has a flinders ports dredge pool yard on the other side. Eventually a less easily circumvented fence ended the trail. I could have gone past along the beach but judging from the warning signs I didn't want to chance getting arrested by Flinders ports patrol.
Despite warnings of sinkholes, deep dredge pools and quicksand, the yard did seem to have solid walking paths around the pools. I noticed there were some massive powerline towers that maybe could be climbed as well as some huge abandoned buildings. Anyone been here? would you end up in a paddy wagon before you could find anything worth exploring?
