Hey all,
first time poster here. I'm seeking beta on freight hopping, if anyone has done so I would love to hear from you.
I'm particularly interested to do SYD - MEL in the near future.

Will also be in Sydney for the next couple weeks if anyone's keen for an adventure buddy, I've climbed a couple cranes + towers, would love to see whats under the city as well, maybe train tunnels??

What's wrong with what he's asking? I fail to see how your response has any correlation to his post. He never said there was or was not anything wrong with abandos.

As for freight hopping and train tunnels, tunnels in Melbourne are no go pretty much these days. Tunnels in Sydney are doable depending on who you know. Sydney to Melbourne hop is a bad journey, it's bad enough being on a passenger train for 20 hours for a Sydney to Melbourne trip. The hop isn't worth it, especially with how cheap flights are. There's shorter hops that are better if you're just looking to experience the feeling without having a s*** time.

In short, freight hops and train tunnels are a terrible place for someone who hasn't been in the scene very long and doesn't know many people to start.

First poster here too. Curious about train tunnels in Sydney as well. I was thinking of just taking a leisurely stroll and seeing what happens. That's how I usually find stuff.

Not sure how forum stuff works.

It was just my way of saying "Are you interested in Abandos too?". Didn't mean it in a malicious way, but I can see how it might seem that way.

I'm new to urbex (as you can tell) and I don't know anything about freight hopping, and I don't have any knowledge on the topic (as you clearly do).

sorry i cant contribute much, im trying to gain experience so i can, but I said something because i noticed uega has declined in popularity over the last few years. no need to worry though, I won't post about vaguely related things on other peoples threads anymore.

Chill. You do you, always. Especially for newer people on UEGA keeping posts towards them constructive is a good way to keep them coming back. Sometimes a harsher approach might be applicable, judge the situation as best you can at the time.

Thanks for the advice on that. I won't go on a tangent anymore on this thread, but it would be mad if you PMed me, I've noticed your presence on UEGA and you sound like you know a lot. I would love to pick up a thing or two form you if you are willing, particularly in the field of finding locations. (i spend many hours searching but to no avail). just looking for ways to learn more because I'm struggling to find that. thanks for your time man.

Welcome to UEGA.

By the calibre of your question i would strongly advise against train hoping for your safety and sanity.
Some tunnels in Sydney are alarmed so unless you are with someone who knows i would recommend against.

Have a brows through the forums and see what you can descover, learn and what people are in your area you can meet that can sow you the roaps of exploring.
