Hi Everyone,
I own a dog adventure company and I'm always scouting new fun locations which other dog walkers don't know about. On Friday i was exploring Elgar park as i had heard it was big and had access to Koonung creek. I followed the creek hoping to find a cool little area i could take the doggies but found that at one point it disappeared. So i spent the rest of the evening trying to find where it went and realised it re-appeared from a drain pipe many kms away. This sparked my interest and i started to follow all the rivers and creeks on google maps, finding where they disappeared and re-emerged. It was so much fun and i wondered whether I may be able to take dogs down some very safe drains. So I ended up spending all of yesterday just researching everything i could on the internet. I now know how the storm water drainage system works in Melbourne, the greatest risks to our creeks water quality, I discovered urbex, found @underground_melbourne on instagram and tracked down a cave clan map of a massive number of drains across Melbourne! Turns out that original drain i had found had a name - "10th" and that there was a rich culture existing in Melbourne to do with drains.

I have since watched so many youtube videos, seen so many pictures and have just learnt so much! I now know that exploring these drains is illegal so wont be taking any of my doggies down any but am glad i have learnt so much and that this community exists so that i have been able to satisfy my interest to the point where I don't have to spend how ever many weekends to get all this information first hand.

You guys are awesome!

You're exactly the good vibes this site needs.

You can totally take dogs on adventures,
Our 11 week old Pup has just had the last of her shots, so we're introducing her to exploring:

Welcome! Girlfriend and I have taken our dog draining a few times. She was a little reluctant at first, but if you throw a stick in she will attempt to retrieve it in the dark.

Ahem. Not a Cave Clan map. Not that it really matters these days.
