Hiya! I actually joined this forum yesterday, but I finally decided to post an introduction topic.
My name is Gigi. I'm seventeen, and I'm from Sydney. Music and photography are my two favourite things. I don't have much knowledge in photography, but I'm doing a T-VET course in it, and I plan to take that career path.
I love street photography, and I especially have an attraction to places that are run-down, and/or graffitied. I think that's why I have an infatuation with abandoned places. There's just a twisted beauty in it. There's a feeling of safety, to me (which is ironic, because there are actually many danger hazards in abandoned places, right?).
My dream in life is actually pretty simple: To travel to New York, and take photos of the high-rise rooftops in NYC—not to do anything extravagant like a photo of me standing on the edge or anything, but to take something similar to this photo but even further away from the edge—and take photos of those run-down studio apartments with the big stairs you see in movies, and the backstreets of Brooklyn. I'm such a photo dork, hahah.
Anyway, I hope to meet people who have experience in urbex, with whom I can learn from in this forum, as well as newbies like me with whom I could possibly relate to.
