I'm new to this scene and only have experience with the skate arena. Are there any commonly known places a beginner can check out? I don't mind if it's a little challenge to enter.

Hey nayvek,
It's really not that hard to find your own spots. I'm only saying this, because people in the urbex community spend hours scouring maps and photos trying to pinpoint a certain location. People also don't drop spots to make it enjoyable for other explorers, as the place isn't trashed. Half of the fun is getting into a spot you spent hours trying to find. I recommend checking out predator's approach to draining (http://sewerfresh.com/approach-to-draining ). Excellent article that you can apply into abandos although it does focus on mostly on draining. A tip I would give to explorers starting out, is look at photos of the location you want to find on fluidr or flickr's tag list and see if you notice the outflow, road or any distinctive features. You would be suprised the tiny details you brain picks up. I know you wanted locations, but people will just get angry.

Thanks and all the best, J
