I noticed that as well on dpreview.com. The Yongnuo YN360 seems very well priced (around AU$100) for the claimed 2560 max output. However the light bit is only around 30cm long so it seems more useful for illuminating a scene rather than being in a photo. I'm also not sure on its automatic colour fading credentials. However, I still think it will be popular with light painters.
You can easily make your own RGB lightwand (with a lot less output), and light lengths of up to 1.2m, for less than $40 (or $30 for white only) with components from Bunnings & Jaycar - RGB strip and controller, wooden stick, 8AA battery pack. You'll need a soldering iron, wirecutter, and duct tape.
BTW I have a Yongnuo remote shutter, which is 1/10 the price of the Nikon original, and seems to work better!
I wouldn't mind tinkering with making a lightwand and other accessories. A bit of an initial investment to buy a soldering iron though and I don't have a lot of space in my apartment to play with it.
Yongnuo makes good products. I've recently sold my Canon 580EX and replaced it with a Yongnuo flash. As I'm using a Sony body now I can only use manual flash anyway and the YN is 90% of the quality for 20% of the price!
