Hello there :D

I'm Merc, and I'm a fairly new member to these forums, and new to Melbourne as well. I've explored a drain or two in Canberra (Drains of Doom being the highlight) and have recently moved to Melbourne.

Is anyone willing to reveal some locations for exploration or do I have to be a more experienced member before that happens? Please forgive my ignorance; I'm very much a newb. I'm based North-East, so anything up here is preferred. I spotted what looks like a nice drain up in Diamond Creek, which I'll be checking out soon.

Cheers!

Hey mate,
Welcome! And that's for taking the time to ask instead of demanding locations for your instagram, you're off to a better start than most!

I'm sure if Decimalz is still around he'll ramble on about the stoops round concrete pipes he loved so when he was living in ACT,

In terms of drain locations, stick around, share some stuff, build some trust and I'm sure there will be people willing to show you around, heck, contribute something to the ACT subsection.

Drains are normally fairly easy to discover, copies of a drain list are floating around the internet and isn't hard to find if you look hard enough, plus just keeping an eye out as you travel around is the best way to find stuff. Summer is drain season, enjoy it!

Welcome to UEGA. Keep an eye on the Melbourne Random Meetup Thread, even if it isn't all that active. If I plan to do something I'll normally throw it in there. Alternatively throw your own meetup in there if you have some locations you think are of interest. Even if they aren't that great. Urbex is as much about the social side as the exploration side, for me anyway. I'm always keen to meet more explorers in the Melbourne scene. I've got a number of missions planned from the 22nd to past New Years. Some of which I will be inviting random people along on.
Cheers, Echo.
Wander often. Wonder always.

Thanks :D

Ah yes, I've heard of Decimalz. I think I've seen his tags, along with Mongo and Panic! of course.

I definitely will! Hopefully I can show you guys some interesting spots when I get around to organising my first expo :D

Will do. Thanks again.

I'll definitely keep my ear to the ground, Echo. I might join you on some of those early 2016 missions. :)

Hi Merc,

I am also new member in the inner city Melbourne area, being doing some urbex on my own for a while so keen to catch up with some other explorers on an expo.

Exploring in numbers can eliminate some of the risks!
