Just got my 600D yesterday. It's also known as the Rebel T3i in the US, and the Kiss X5 in Japan. I got the Japanese one (only difference is the name), as it was cheaper by AUD$200. :D

Niiiiiice :D

I expect heaps of pics from you now! Dont be scared to experiment and take 100s of shots, as its the only way that we all can get better and can hope to capture those "it" shots.

Well done and congrats on the purchase !

Thanks! I've been messing around with it in my backyard, I'll show some of the better photos later. I think I've finally got the basics of the interface. My (lost) SLR was so much easier to use, all the controls on the lens almost, and ISO on film... that was it. :D Still, this beats my ancient SLR by miles (kilometres just doesn't sound right even though it's a SI unit). Expect significantly better shots, especially at night. Well, after I get my tripod anyways. :D

I shoot on AV mode. You'll get some nice long exposure stuff that way, especially choosing low ISO and small aperture like F16.

AV? I assume that's full manual?

Oh, aperture priority. I usually just do full manual. Although sometimes, if it's in full daylight and I'm lazy, I just go auto.
