I almost shit a brick when I saw this:

The most expensive lens in the world?
The LEICA APO-TELYT-R 1:5.6/1600mm is worth $2,064,500 US.
Yes you read this right - 2 million US dollars!
Anyone has that thing? I would like to see some test shots!

Not actually possible even if you had the hubble telescope as your lens.

Let's say you take a photo from the top of the Centrepoint Tower. It's 309m high. Let's add a little bit for a tripod and so on. 310.8m.

The horizon is approximately 62.94km from the tower. If we take into account the refraction of light by the atmosphere, and assuming perfect conditions, it would be about 68.05km of sight.

The distance from Sydney to Brisbane (centre of each city I assume), it is 730km. Not even 10% of the way.

To be able to take such a photograph, you would need to go 35.77km high. So, steal an Ayaks aircraft once they develope one in Russia, and you're set. :D
