Sydney's warehouse conversion suburbs

Not exactly urban exploration related but I love this.

Rather than demolish warehouses/industrial buildings, convert them into living and office spaces!

(It also seems to be the case that the converted eateries tend to be very popular with the hipsters, e.g. The Grounds in Alexandria!)

All the old Woolstores around New Farm area in Brisbane were converted into units, thought this was a great idea ! Would be great to see more of this forward thinking happening!!
I was involved in removing some of the old equipment from the woolstores and remembered all those exposed solid wall supports throughout the place, and painters complaining because the paint wouldn't adhere to certain lanolin soaked surfaces!! I wish I had a decent photo of the place when it was devoid of everything and just a carcass, but alas I don't. Was a very impressive expansive area full of "history in the timbers".

Reminded me that I had a few scans of Newstead that I got at the same time as the old Powerhouse pics, only externals though
