Just picked up that new Petzl Nao headlamp and from my limited time with it it seems like an awesome bit of kit. Worked with it the other night and didn't realize until I got back into camp that I'd had the perfect amount of light all night without even having to touch the thing.

HDS lights are far and away the best lights I have ever owned, a bit pricey, but they're built to last, have a lifetime warranty and are probably the one light I own that I would and have completely trusted my life to.

Fenix are fantastic, really solid bits of gear. 4sevens are pretty good too. With the new Cree XP-G2's coming out now there are some great lights on the market.

For cheap awesome lights check out shiningbeam.com, Bryan is an awesome guy to deal with and ships super fast. My first LED was one of his upgraded Romisen RC-F4's ($25 if i remember correctly) and I stil use it today because of how bright it is in such a small package.
Looking at Fenix, they look like lightsabres. :D

Ive got a dolphin series 2. And a dolphin mini/jr with led,s. I prefer the std dolphin cause when you fall/trip you can put your dolphin on the wall/floor instead of you bare hand. And the slighty yellow light show up cobwebs.
As the mini/jr dolphin has a bright white light and i find the cobwebs once i walk through them.
Ahhh i hate ir.

6000lm
65w hid flashlight
6600mah battery
6000k color temp only
Curious... How fragile to knocks or being dropped are the HID's? Would fork out for one but given the price (and the risk of being left in the dark) I'd hate to lose it because of clumsiness.

I have a pretty powerful LED headlamp I originally used for bushwalking, not sure about the exact specs off the top of my head though.

I have some cheap pocket torches I got from some shop, probably a supermarket, and some nice Dolphin sized 11 LED torch which uses the same battery as the Dolphin. Nothing fancy or expensive. Mind you my cheap ass Sonka torch has been around the world twice now.
But really, any torch will do the job. I always carry 2, just in case one goes flat. Oh, and of course they are water proof.

I've realised I've only ever carried one torch... Might have been scary if I lost it while in one of the long drains.

I carry an Inova t3, 180 lumens rechargeable. Had it 4 years now and no dramas. Mini mag for backup. Ever since I saw the new led lensers (600+ lumens) I might just be making a new purchase soon.....

600+ lumens?! Are you hunting vampires?

I just bought a torch for my bike, but wow, it works bloody well in drains, tunnels and what not. 250 lumens to around 50 on lowest setting. Lasts more than 2 hours, but gets quite hot.

Haha, probably blind yourself from light reflecting off drain walls. Then again, it could be a reason to wear sunglasses and look cool.
