Also where does the left hand fork lead to went back as I hate spiders and my torch was running out. On the topic of rushcutters I've explored it right up to the waterfall but I couldn't get past it without getting soaked, I've heard there's quite a bit more past that and it becomes even more interesting. Any help or tips appreciated!
That slide in Streamway To Heaven is a b1tch, but if you try hard enough you can climb it (if I can do it, anybody can). Sadly the rope we installed there is now gone.
And even though I'm not one to usually show off, I (along with Syme) discovered STH in 2005 after 4 years of research using old maps and pics at the library. We've tried to keep that particular drain quiet, but that still hasn't stopped selfish people wrecking it for the rest of us. When we first explored STH it was asif nobody had touched it in eons, there was all sorts of historical stuff laying about, things like old coins (pennies, shillings, etc), a rusted pistol frame (no barrel, hammer, or cylinder), an old sword, and other small trinkets that made that drain one the best in Sydney. We left it all there, CC has a strict no stealing policy, but sadly it's all gone now. Don't get me wrong, it's still a very good drain to explore, heaps of features like the original riverbed and sandstone walls, hardcore entry/exit, ambiance, but IMHO it's gone from a 9 out of 10 to about a 5. This drain is old, ancient creek capped late 1800s.
You got any pix of when you went to STH?
The original 'discoverers' of STH (Syme left, BJ right) at the top of the slide in 2005...

PS: the drain downstream that leads to STH ("the left hand fork") is Vertigo Drain.
