Anyone got any pics of fortress in Sydney? I'm especially interested in 'predators shrine'? If anyone can throw me some pics of that or a link to some.
Thanks in advance.

Also is this drain still fairly easy to access after those people died in it in 2012?

Fortress is amazing try going near high tide and holding onto the bars when the water splashes onto you, best experience out there. After the location of many drains were leaked i can see quite a few kids trying to get into here. Hopefully they dont because the couple of entrance left are hard enough as it is. There are two entrances i know of. 1 involves going in through a grill and going through roughly a 30-40cm pipe and jumping into a pit of water. Then a bit of walk to the main drain. The other one involves going through a grill then jumping to a ladder( would not advise this way as it could lead to srs injury) But know people who have gone through here note they are tall. Btw leaving through the 1st entrance involves a bit of upper body strength or midget asian friend jumping up through the pipe last. The entrance through the first one you can fit about 5 teenagers including two midgets and quite a bit of gear in the little compartment before the pipe which is convenient for leaving all together. I would suggest going with someone who has gone before, ofc i wanted to get into fortress so badly i just jumped in and it took me a good half an hour of pulling my fat belly up and lots of scratches when leaving. Oh and fortress is quite a bit of small tunnels leading off so there are probably other entrances. Hopefully i can go back and map the whole of fortress including all the little entrances.
*Oh could any moderators edit this if it reveals too much or is affecting the CoC. THANKS*

A CC member informed me that since those people were killed in fortress in 2012 it is now much harder to access. He didn't mention either of the ways you mentioned to get in but he did say that 11/12 manholes had been welded shut but there was still one that you can go in through. Problem is its in the middle of an intersection so if you want to access it you have to go late at night with cones and construction type of gear and look like you're supposed to be there.
Anyway I'm not in Sydney and not sure when I can get up there but Fortress is high on my list of drains I want to do.

Oh and by the way what about those bars that lead out to the ocean. Any chance of using a carjack or something to force them apart enough to slip through?

Well when u come to sydney defnately check out eternity and swoo as well. Hmm not quite sure, alot of people know about the bars but no the entrances. I know it used to be open and you could slip in during low tide guessing some cc peeps had something to do with that but now its back to normal.

The main problem with access is that it's a quiet residential area, full of people who'd enjoy minding your business for you.

Take care to not to look suspicious or get seen.

The bars are stainless steel and stressed into the concrete, meaning your only option to spread them would involve removing the concrete.

Please don't go about destroying things.

Here's an old write-up for ya. The only entry I know of, excluding the flooded upstream exit, is a relatively deep shaft with a bit of a pool at the bottom. That being said, I still haven't gotten around to doing this drain :l All in due time...

I feature prominently in that article (and pix), I went by a different name then, let's see who can guess who I am (in that article). If you already know don't say.

That link was a great read. I spent hours reading about all the drains mentioned here on UEGA. Very interesting.

I think I've figured it out, although seeing as I've seen you irl, I guess that is an unfair advantage ;)

Do things properly and contact Scarecrow at CC. It is worth the effort. The best drain I've ever done by far. A shame I took a crap camera with me at the time.
