Do you have a link to the story? Sounds interesting. I've never thought the air could be so bad in drains so as to make you lose consciousness. Not in the drains I've seen at any rate.
Here's a video of it, was waiting for it to be uploaded :3

Went into a drain around the corner from me this arvo. Figured I should finally have a look, since I go past it almost daily.
Completely untouched inside, understandably so bc it's bland as f***. Walked for about half an hour until I turned around. :/

Only $235, but according to Bianca, I can rub that off with a day of community service.
In terms of trespassing charges, at least in Brisbane, the distinction between whether a place is used as a place of business (or intended to be) or not is irrelevant, which was something I was actually hoping to use for an innocence plea.
If you have any tools or picks on you, dump them. As soon as they find anything on you, most police officers develop a portrayal of you as a criminal. If you're found with nothing suspicious on you, it seems that they're more comfortable to provide you with a lighter charge.
Make sure you keep an inventory on your stuff. They lost my $200 torch :x
The duty lawyer line is long and painful, so bring some entertainment.
Seeing as I was never actually trialled (I saw the duty lawyer and requested a ticket through her, which then went to an officer who accepted my request), I don't really have much more to add. However, do go through the processes. Unless you feel you have a reasonable case, ask for a ticket first, (if denied) then plead guilty and ask for a good behaviour bond (if you feel like you play it safe enough that you won't get busted again), then if that's denied, ask for a fine, then jail time as a final resort (pretty much impossible in this hobby, though).
Additionally, if multiple people are busted, make sure you all get treated the same. If one person gets a ticket for offence A, the other people should only get a ticket too assuming they're facing the same charge. If you mention this, it seems like they have to do so.

Glad you got off without a record. I assume you'll take the community service option?

Damn. Shame about your torch. I wouldn't be surprised if they had "lost" it on purpose. (They probably wanted a new torch too!)

Yeah might as well do community service to work it off, it'll be a good experience anyway :p And you're probably on the money there, gotta love coppers ;)

You should see if you're entitled to compensation for that...

I'll look into it, but I doubt it. They'll just say that I didn't have it on me or that they gave it back without putting it in evidence (the latter wouldn't slide though, considering they took my other torch anyway)

Do you guys reckon a photo exploring scavenging hunt, like on UER, would work on these forums? For example, I post a photo responding to the previous post and say "A building with double-doors", and then a person posts a photo of that and then says "an Aspire tag", etc.? Would be fun if it goes smoothly I reckon.

Volunteer to do some lawncare/landscaping at some unoccupied building?

I've had a chat with some mates of mine who have done community service in the past and have a pretty good idea of the bludge places where I can get a free meal :3

You need to select your shots a bit better if you're getting 2k photos in 2 days (and from the sounds of it, not even 2 full days) >.>
