Hi I've just recently destroyed my tripod I was wandering what everyone else uses. I might change to a newer model manfrotto any advice ?

Manfrotto MT190XPRO4 with 3 Way Pan Head.

Always had Manfrotto, can't go wrong.

i've had vanguards, wish my new one had a 3-way head, 2 way is crap

Manfrotto befrees are great small travel tripods.
If you want a bigger, sturdier tripod 290 or 190 series from manfrotto will do the job.
Ball head or 3 way pans are just personal preference, although it is easier to do fine adjustments on the pan heads.

I've got two tripods, a tiny Manfrotto MKC3-P01 for travel/urbex but I've also got a much heavier/sturdier Slik for when weight matters less or I need more stability. (e.g. very long exposures or if I'm shooting in high wind/in a creek)

It's light (about 1kg) and fits easily in a backpack. Problem is that it has too many leg sections and takes a while to set up.

I have a good manfrotto head so I went out dug deep and bought a tripod to match. And turns out the head it came with is undetachable lesson of the day is do more research

I'll have to get use to the new head

I've got a 190XPRO4 along with a ball head (don't remember the model). An absolute beast of a tripod and also weighs like a beast. Learn from my mistake, if you're going to drop $400+ on a tripod + head, get a good carbon fibre one instead. That said, my tripod is like an acrobat and I managed to get some awesome shots from it.

Just got a Manfrotto befree after i lost part of my old tripod in Burford's. it's a hell of a lot smaller than than the previous one. i also like the quick release plate and how low i can get it for macro shots

Gonna bump this thread instead of making a new one -
Looking into finally buying a tripod, instead of relying on balancing my camera on... things.
What do you guys find works best for you as far as size and weight are concerned? I'm leaning towards just getting something basic, ideally looking to spend $250 max. Any recommendations?

Yeah for that money id go manfrotto. Can get light but strong

I have one of these now, light and folds up and fits into a back back... will hold full size dslr with grip and 70-200mm lens... I rate it......

had it fully extended and it still holds the weight of my camera easy not that i do that heaps tho...

That's alright then. You just don't want your tripod to tip over.

I was out shooting with some mates and one guy had a tripod that wasn't that great, but he was balancing a digital Leica on it... Thankfully, nothing happened.
