I've never been exploring before but my friend has just showed me some amazing photos of the old Dunlop Factory (which is now closed down) and I'm hoping to go with some people so I can get taught all the tips and tricks and eventually start exploring myself!

Welcome to the forum, you've selected a great place to get started :) I'd recommend subscribing to the Sydney Random Meetup thread (in the NSW Regional section) so that you can be notified when people around you are heading out and looking for tagalongs. We have a pretty active Sydney userbase, so you should be able to find some people to go out with.

I visited Dunlop recently and it's a bit of a hole, nothing much to see and the place is a bit dangerous as well in my opinion. There were concrete slabs that had fallen from the ceiling, large pieces of metal hanging from the roof, nails randomly sticking out of walls, broken ladder rungs, etc. By all means, check it out, just be careful. Anyhow, hope to see you around some more! :)

the factory is sadly closed now, construction site with both dogs and contract security. Don't recommend going.
