Tinfoil hats for the visitors and a large plastic viewing window along the side LOL! Still I would have loved to gone just for the humour factor.

They must have disturbed some asbestos during the cleanup/remediation work so must be pretty unsafe inside.

Just be aware you'll have more exposure to asbestos than normal as well as the security you'll need to look out for. They are pretty quick getting people out.

I stumbled across the open day the other week. It was horrible. A walk around the perimeter. It's pretty boarded up with perspex as previously mentioned and they have discovered a lot of asbestos. There is a high interest in the place at the moment with the new development which means security hyped up. There is quite a bit of info and photos online - Although not the same as seeing it yourself. I think somewhere they said it was the cave clan "HQ" back in the day? Would have a been a great place to get lost in for ages!

“White Bay Power Station has the potential to be a hub for knowledge-intensive jobs in new economy areas, while providing an opportunity to restore the heritage building and provide public access to the foreshore"

There's no chance my "knowledge intensive" job will move here.

The only jobs here will be lawyers, the political think tanks, yuppie types and the baristas making coffee for them. So tired of this govt marketing.
