I've done some searching and created a list of places to visit. I've got a mix of abandoned buildings and rooftops, no drains at the moment but am definitely open to itphytrix wrote:Welcome to the forumAlways good to see new and ambitious members around here.
There are definitely some great resources on the web and on the forum in regards to location finding and photography tipsAre you interested in checking out some drains and some more abandos, or are you primarily looking for rooftops atm?
I'll be up in Sydney in 2 weeks for a couple of days, definitely down to explore with you if you're keen.
Thanks! Looking forward to making discoveries.aydun wrote:Heya, welcome! The Anzol place a pretty interesting explore.
There's a fair bit to do around Sydney as you probably know.
Probably stating the obvious, but I find its useful to just always keep an eye out for potential explores when out, even when not exploring.
And then there's Canberra, where the tallest building doesn't even make the top 250 in Australia >.<DFEX wrote:Welcome to the forum! A late night rooftop is always rewarding. There are plenty out there just waiting to be found, explore!
So im guessing drains are the go for Canberra then?phytrix wrote:And then there's Canberra, where the tallest building doesn't even make the top 250 in Australia >.<DFEX wrote:Welcome to the forum! Pretty much. In all honesty, it's crap for urban exploration. The drains are very new, meaning they have less interesting features and are plain RCP. There are probably 3 or so decent ones. The abandonments are secured tightly and are demolished relatively quickly due to high land demand. The bunkers are mostly uninteresting and are either cleaned out or extremely difficult to access (a lot of them are on training grounds for ADFA or owned by another don't-f***-with-us government dept). And of course, buildings are very low and relatively secure, so there goes any hopes of good rooftopping too. On the plus side, there's a lot to see between Canberra and Sydney, plus the trip to Melbourne isn't that far.DFEX wrote:So im guessing drains are the go for Canberra then?phytrix wrote:And then there's Canberra, where the tallest building doesn't even make the top 250 in Australia >.<DFEX wrote:Welcome to the forum! Hmmm.. Road trip hahaphytrix wrote:Yeah a lot of abandoned locationsDFEX wrote:As in abandoned locations between Canberra nd Syd? Coz it cant be the drive your talking about, its so boring..There's quite a bit in Yass, a couple of big sites in Goulburn, and plenty in between if you keep a keen eye out. Usually a good idea to roughly stick to the train lines. Considering the age of the train line, there are a lot of sites in the suburbs surrounding the train lines (roughly). At least in comparison to the direct route, that is.
I need to do this. I have some very nice Supra high-tops (Asian af), just got to find a rusty beam or something to rest them on.No+Pro wrote:welcome, make sure you combine both of those interests and take a pic of your shoes on top of a building
