Newcastle - Looking for locations and friends

Hey guys!
I have recently taken a huge interest in urban exploring after I have been going for long walks in the bush, trying to discover new things. I wanted to take this interest to the urban level. I enjoy documenting my trips for future reference and memories.
I am currently interested in exploring drains, abandoned buildings.. etc. the whole deal, it all seems fun!

I am searching for people to come explore Newcastle with me. Who knows what we might find?
I am also on the search for locations to explore with my friends, specifically only in Newcastle.

Instagram trend hoppers hate me. This little known formula has worked for all of my exploring life:

1. Drive around town (walk, ride bike or catch public transport if you don't have a license)
2. Look for sites of interest.
3. Investigate.
4. Explore if applicable - if not repeat steps 1 and 2.

Congratulations! You are now an accomplished urbexer. Profit from your new urbex talents and impress your peers.

Urbex - God, I hate that word.

Despite the sarcastic undertones of this post this is actually good advice. You may want to refer to the internet to find potential places of interest before proceeding with step 1.

Try contributing a little to the forum before asking for locations. An intro thread would be a good start. Also, a better approach to getting locations would be to ask if any members are wanting to go exploring with you. We have a couple of members from Newy, and a lot of Sydney members head up there quite regularly.

Also, what Decimalz. said. It's honestly not that hard to drive/walk/ride around and find a few locations, especially in a place like Newy.

Good luck!

Maybe get in contact with a guy called sini (you can PM him on the forums). He's a Newy local and is quite ambitious, plus it sounds like he's doing meetups every other weekend. He might take you along for some explores :)

Didn't get a reply. I hope it wasn't due to the aftermath of the storm or anything as I did see many fallen trees and damaged buildings/houses. If so I hope you are ok.

Either way you missed out on a good meet even though it was more of a catch-up with danny and sini and talking about cars, photography, s*** at work and other future trips.

Just another thing that we or at least Sini, Danny_ or myself will only share good locations once we've met someone.

We are unable to feed info to you even via PM with exception to the known ones such as the bunkers and trashed places. No offence intended.

Midget: think I'll be trying to come here more often so sini should be ok :)

Can we arrange a Newy weekend trip for the weekend of the 23rd/24th? I'll be up in Sydney on the Friday (the 22nd) for a newbies and it'd be cool to have something to do after that :)
