Anyone up for some exploring in Geelong. I'm familiar with basically anything worth seeing in Geelong and would love someone to explore with.
Drains, topsides... Whatever you want.
Anyone?
This weekend?

There was an old school camp out that way that was pretty cool, don't know if you've checked it out?

Is there anything left of Western Heights High - Barton Campus?

When I was a "n00b" there was one thing I always kept in mind; absolutely no one is ever going to give you locations - use your brain and go find your own. Gradually down the line once people started to know me well and that I wasn't a loud mouth (although I still have my regrets) they started giving me details, although being given GPS co-ordinates are kind of boring. I appreciate a clue or two to keep me guessing; there is more fun in that.

Anyway, Nick has basically given you those locations anyway. A bit of googleing can go a long way dude ;)

Just looked up a bunch of photos taken of that camp back in 2010ish - it looks like it'd be an excellent explore! Google maps isn't looking too promising though. place looks like it's been almost completely levelled.
Not so sure about the current state of Barton Campus either, but that looks like it would have been a good explore too! Do you have any photos of them Nick?

I'm thinking about coming down to Melbourne next week (like, 28th-30th). I'd be down for some explores, only problem is I don't have reliable transport so would have to be accessible from public transport, or alternatively, I could pitch in for fuel if one has a car. Thoughts?

Not a lot to explore down here at the moment unless you're into the old powerstation ( http://vintagewarehouse.co/ ) the cement works and the trashed saltworks

Power station is boring because its open to everyone these days. Done the cement works and the saltworks.
Also I do agree with you that the topsides aren't so good but there's a few good drains.

I'll actually be in Melbourne that weekend I believe at this point. To be honest the topsides aren't so great and you definitely need a car to get to almost all of them unless you like long walks (not along the beach). I could point you towards a few good drains though if you're interested.

Yeah man some locations would be sweet, my knowledge of Melbourne's scene is pretty weak :d My interests include long walks on the bea... n. bean.
Here's hoping I can persuade my mate whom I'm staying with to lend me his car xD Also planning to Uber it down to Geelong if possible, but I've only got like 2 and a half days to see as much as I can :|
