Saturday. Newcastle. Bring a bicycle for ease of transportation. I'll leave sini to plan the Newcastle day, and PM us all. Note: don't forget to give us all in Sydney time to get there and back.

council has been back to close off a couple but theres still a few open and some other ways in, theres a couple of abandonments we can check out, bikes sound good! hopefully the weather turns out ok for us

Sini: If I go I need to take my car. But I am not that familiar with parking or traffic in Newcastle as I usually stay out of the CBD when I'm there.
Again my attendance all depends on how much garden work I need to do at the parents house and whether I need to go to bunnings to get more stuff.

Midget/Aydun you can hitch a ride if I do go. But not sure how many bikes I can fit in my boot (although I know aydun has a fold-up one). Plus my car is a real mess now.

Parkings not a problem and I also have a car so if you're driving we can still fit everyone plus gear and Bikes

I know my way around, its a small town after all. If everyone comes in a car then we can ditch the bike idea all together im happy either way.

So what time are we thinking? I'm keen but I have some other commitments on Saturday that I'm trying to work out.

I didn't see trackwork. So I guess we're stuck with walking or stealing a ride from sini.

Sucks though, I do like my cycling.

I'll get to Newcastle around 11am and leave at 4pm. Is that enough time? I've got a job later at night.

Maybe swap Sydney trip for Newcastle til trains work?
Google maps says it'll take nearly 4 hours to get there tomorrow -.-

Unless the edge is indeed free early, but I was kinda keen for the train/bikes lol.

I'd be up for that. Train and bike sounds fun but I can't make it up this weekend. Wouldn't mind doing something local though!

I think I would instantly become single if I made other plans for valentines day

sooo whats the plan at the moment? 11-4 is plenty of time and im okay for bikes or cars - trains don't run all the way into Newcastle indefinitely its a few ks into town with a few abandos on the way.
we can reschedule if it doesn't suit everyone tho I am very keen!

I have some drains in mind. Some of the others might know some still accessible abandos? Did you have any preference?

I might not be able to make it tomorrow. Ive only got the mx5 to drive down cos my gf is using the 4wd tomorrow. Sunday would be fine id have the other car!

What's wrong with driving the MX5? It'd make a great drive down, wouldn't it?

not really - id have to change the wheels and id be sitting in that bucket seat with super stiff shocks - ill have my landcruiser rego'd tomorrow or Monday so I don't mind the trip in that.
