That shed has been hit pretty hard by writers. Years ago there were motorbikes and a dune buggy in there, amongst a few other bits and pieces.

Yeah, the place has been Mcfucked recently...
There's an old sandstone mine where they got the materials to build the castle, and then converted it into a pool in the area. It'd be about 3.5m x 2.5m. It now has a car body submerged in it.

A while back I was there, but there was a group of guys with vans cleaning out the place, and they seemed official, so I left them alone. Turned out they were just cleaning the crap off the floor so they could shoot a music video haha.

Hahaha, awhile ago my mates and I wanted to film one of those crappy found-footage Slender Man movies at the castle.

A place as easy to get to and into such as that was doomed to be trashed from the start, I'm surprised the Lithgow Blast Furnace isn't covered in graff.

Newnes is pretty well known. You can just walk in just like the blast furnace and the other places round that area. Legal urbex in that sense.
Just a harmless explorer. No need to waste taxes checking me ;)

I've been there once - Newnes is best described as "a bushwalk with some heavily decayed buildings thrown in". Its scale is rather large and gives you a sense of the mining operations of the time, but there are no complete buildings or structures - just walls, foundations and heavily decayed pieces of brickwork. Also, it is heavily overgrown.

This is nice and atmospheric in its own right, but not really your standard sort of urbex where the fun is in exploring inside things. =)

Here's a few quick photos from my trip:

Glen Davis has more buildings rather than just ruins / mining materials, I think. Never been to either myself, hopefully someday soon.

I went camping there over the long weekend. When was your trip?

Oops, I misread your post - thought you were asking what it was like!

I went there in December 2011 as part of a drive around that area looking for things to explore.
