Training with lens types and ISO settings

Hi gang

Does anyone know of any reliable 1-day training camps (Brisbane) that can teach me all about different lens types and how to shoot those awesome long exposure shots (eg sparklers in a tunnel)? I have a Canon 7d with a 50mm and an 85mm (so far), but I really want to know how to take long exposure shots, and know things about different lens types.

Any recommendations?

-- Hey rhubarb_king. This is how I Shoot Long Exposures in the Dark

-- My Gear
DSLR Camera. Lens with a Zoom. Tripod. Remote Shutter Button. Powerful Headlamp. Hand Torch

-- Long Exposures Shooting Steps
1. Camera Dial on Manual. Focus on Manual. ISO on 100. f/ on 9 (Aperture). Shooting time to 30 seconds. Set the shutter release to the remote button
2. I See my shot. Camera on low tripod. Face tripod/camera on the ground towards subject
3. I walk to where my subject is. Hand torch on and I put it on the ground facing the camera. Go Back to camera
4. Zoom camera in on the torch. Focus camera on the torch's light. Zoom back out. Adjust shot angle
5. Walk back & get torch. then and walk back to camera. I'm set to shoot
6. I press remote shutter release button. I paint the whole scene with my headlamp. It's just like painting
7. After 30 seconds the camera stops shooting and starts to process the shot. I think about the next shot

Or if you don't have a remote shutter release, just use the timer on your camera.

That's a pretty serious camera to start out with.

I'm not sure there's any official lessons, hit up you tube for basics then got and try it out heaps.

Search light painting and light trails for pretty much everything you need.
