Dunlop no more?

Hey all

Tonka and I went back to Dunlop over the weekend, there's an auction sign out the front for the 30th of the month, the fences have all been boarded up and most of the xmas stuff is gone (or burnt).

It might finally be going...
You can't walk along a barbed wire fence with a foot in each paddock.

I can confirm this. That auction sign has Been there for a while but that's not the reason why it's "no more."

last time I went it was exceedingly difficult to get in. They patched the fence up ages ago but this time they had made large bolted doors at all the entry points to the Mage storage facilities. This was mainly due to cars that were now being stored there.

However, Javed and Cam tell me now it has become an even more active construction site with people regularly frequenting the areas as well as heightened security measures. Javed gets into all sorts of places and I can honestly say there's a no go on this one :/ Sydney's most famous warehouse shall be renovated, torn down...idk. But it's sad to see the old thing go.

Javed and Cam went only about a couple days ago, during the week but at later hours.

Last I went there was a few months ago... Half of it was a garage, I seem to recall it was attached to the car park for the discount store next to it...

Still plenty of used syringes and spray cans though, if that's what you're into.

That place was becoming a liability anyway - i found it a bit boring to be honest. The most fun you could have was going through all the old invoices while trying to avoid falling through the floor or stepping on a syringe. At the end of the day it's just a big flat factory covered in graffiti.

The roof was pretty cool though, but there's better.

When we first explored it way back in 2001 it still contained the machinery used to make tennis and squash balls, presses, kilns, hube blowers, etc. All of that got stolen/salvaged, they even took the door fittings and windows!

The lab above the old retail store was the nost interesting, was decked out like a high-school science room, with Bunsen burners, ancient scales and other analytical equipment, petri dishes and test tubes and sample jars, it had the lot till the local trash discovered it where after that it was all soon broken or stolen.

I'll try dig up some old pix.

I second that request! Only ever saw it as a dump. Would love to see what it used to be like.

I know what you mean about finding the photos. And the way your place currently looks it might be weeks before anything turns up, hehe.

It's very easy to get into, you just need to look around a little bit. Don't try the front gate haha.

I could see a way in easy enough but I have a fractured ankle which was starting to ache. And I could hear feral voices from inside lots of swearing and use of the word c*$t which normally wouldnt worry me I have done martial arts for a few years and I covered in tatts so ppl tend to leave me alone.

You've been ruled out of this weeks grand final so just whack on a moon-boot and take it easy.
Seriously though, your ankle needs rest, more you use it the longer it will take to heal.

If it makes you feel any better I'm a long suffering Rabbitohs fanatic who's waited all his life to see them win a grand final. :S

Broncos have a good side for next year they got some good buys Ben Barba and Martin Kennedy etc.
Souths have bought just one player Joel Reddy from the Tigers and he's coming out of injury.

Teleport.

I thought Dunlop was knocked down ages ago? I think I'm the only person here (NSW) who hasn't been to Dunlop. :(
