forts: first shots

having picked up my new d5100 yesterday i went to the headland forts not much to see all locked up pretty tight. never used a camera other than on a phone didnt come with a manual so aall settings are probably wrong but here are some shots

if anyone has tips for better shots pls dont be shy

annoyed i didnt get to see anything other than cockatoo island when i was in sydney last year now, weekend was not long enough, damn wedding

thanks, there was alot more to see but they have it all locked up but from the windows they just look like rooms dont see why they lock them for.

I can see you saw quite a bit. Must have been out there for a few hours. I can always spend so much time out there, and it never gets old.

Some good solid photos for a first time as well.

thanks scarecrow yeah i was out there for a few hours went between middle head and geaorges head and tried to find beehive casement but only found old nude people

Yes, there's a nude beach down at Obelisk Bay, and also on Cobblers Beach. Take care at night as it's a gay pick-up spot as well. A group of us once came across a massive party happening down at one of the gun circles at George's Heights once. Doof music, guys and girls wearing lycra body-suits and space helmets, everyone off their heads on various drugs. I think we were all a bit freaked out by each other.

Oh man, so true, I saw a lot of sausage before I finally found the Beehive. If you go in bad/cold weather it's a lot less of a problem.

will have to remember that madmaw i gave up looking after i walked past beach twice not a good look walking on nude beach with a camera

Nice pix Hando, I bet your finger got numb from taking all those pix.
And MH gets locked up and unlocked often, you were just unlucky. And they lock them up to deter squatters living there.

You loved it.
And you can't really miss Upper Casemate, it's right next to the road, and Lower Casemate is near it. They are both usually locked up.

i was going of wiki which said beehive can reached by a path from the corner of Middle Head Road and Chowder Bay Road i obviously took wrong path
