Hi, just a quick post to say hi, am in Brisbane, haven't been to too many places yet but keen to start. Not so much into abandonments, more into brick, and like to take some pics. Got a few mates interested but may be open to meeting some new like-minded people.

ha yes, light is good, no photos without it.
bribie has got to be one of my favourite places, 4x4 and good photo subject matter just outside the tent.
interesting structures to light up and no need to sneak around - there was noone around from 1-5am when we shot the searchlight and bunkers. haven't been back properly since i got my own camera, when the weather's a bit warmer will definitely be heading back, had some time to plan more shots and redo some

AVIS said that Bribie was a no-go zone for their vehicles so I didn't risk driving the 4WD out there because knowing my luck me & the car would have got washed out to sea.
It's one of the places I still want to tick off my 'been there' list.

If you get up this way it's worth it, let me know if you are up our way and want to check it out. my mate sunk his vitara in one of the creek crossings but common sense was lacking

luckily another mate was behind him (scratching his head at his approach to the crossing) and winched him back onto dry land. the vitara is up and going again, he pulled it to pieces and there doesn't seem to be any major issues, 6 months or so later. the guy who rescued him had previously drowned a 3 month old defender in a dam, after i pulled him out it took an hour and a half to get his car going again. so, i tend to be the sensible one
