Hi everyone,

Not sure if there's anyone else on these forums (or keen explorers) from WA, or members who would like to visit WA for some exploring, i'm throwing the invite out for an explore to the old Freo power station, (and/or open to suggestions to other locations) sometime in the second half of october.

Exact date etc yet to be confirmed if anyone's interested? , would be nice to see if there's other explorers over here, or meet some from the eastern states....

What do you think?

Cheers from Bangers...

Good luck! I'd fly down there or something, but I don't have any friends to leech accommodation off.

i am coming back to WA in feb for the whole month prettymuch so id be very keen.. im also keen to just go exploring, last time i was there the drive from perth to albany had so many abandoned places, silos, farmhouses [and a damn emu that sprang out of nowhere lol] so i cant wait to do that again but look 'properley' this time, i had to beat the sun going down last time.

Hi there!

Havn't been down Albany way yet, want to get out of town for a look around when I get a chance your comments motivate me to do it sooner! There's a few good locations around Perth, depending on how 'legal' you like to keep it, i'v posted pics of a few in the exploration forum. Apart from the power station, Graylands hospital is one other - there's a few others around as well, i'm just a bit reluctant to give too much away on this public forum to avoid causing them to be secured or trashed...

Give me a shout when you're coming over for locations, and maybe join us for an explore...

Cheers!

as soon as you start getting out into rural and farmland theres so much abandonment, houses on farms etc.. my grandad had 2 vacant houses on his farm he ended up giving away as long as the people came to took them kinda thing.. actually thinking back to when i was a child playing in all the 'houses with pigeons but no people'.. maybe this is where my intrest came from :P haha

and no problems on keeping it on the down low - im starting to prepare for the trip in dec/jan so ill definetly hit you up once im in the home state!!

cheers mate :)

Seems like abandonment heaven for Australian explorers. Are they all houses/sheds, or are there some other interesting buildings as well?

Me and my partner go out UE every wednesday, and have done a few sites in Perth, found some new ones. Today looked at to old farms both had there 1870s stone houses, complete, but damaged by time, no trashing so got to see how nature takes down a house, then the same farms with ther more modern 1920s, 30s homesteads, sheds, got some good pics, will post shortly. Would show anyone who is on tour, but would reccomend a cooler period, as the wheatbelt gets hot this time of year. Next week looking at doing a 300km round trip through towns around Northam/Toodyay area to see what there is, and hopefully document these aswell.

Any of you guys still keen for a group meet up?

I'm hiring a car on Wednesday and so far I'd like to see the old Guildford hotel and freeo power station, Albany was a bit of a let down as in the town itself, the drive up there last time was good but I caught the bus this time so couldn't get off :(

Just on the Power Station lads. Apparently They've fixed up the fence and razor wire. Take tools. Small car jack should do it.

Sending another call out to others in the west, there's a bit around at the moment, some well known and also some new sites, cranes, underground and topside.

Reply asap if interested in doing something late june...

If anyone knows anyone in WA who might be interested in urbex and maybe doing some sort of expo, give them a yell, the scene is way too quiet here!

Cheers...
