I like to look at things the general populas don't see, old things, forgotten things, bizzare or strange

I guess i should share my reasons also.

- Architecture.
Lots of old and abandoned places are very rich with architecture background. Love to walk through places and admire the engineering behind it which once upon a time served a purpose.

- Something different.
As blackduck30 mentioned, going to see places that general population don't get to see.

- Time.
last but not least, and maybe the main reason of them all. Walking through a place that was once populated or used, however was maybe last visited by someone years and years ago. Its almost like time has froze in that place and you are walking with a feeling the rest of the world is standing still.

What got me into it is Pripyat. My country of birth (Estonia) has received some of that cloud on the day of the explosion, so ever since i have been obsessed with that place. A place that was ranked as Russia's leading new uprising city was left/abandoned do to an unfortunate nuclear reactor explosion.
My ultimate dream to go for a one day guided tour to step back into 80s and see how things were.

I have no idea,
I just seem to find it exciting, and these kinds of places should be preserved for others to see in the future

"Adventures" were always something I was interested in, but generally they were driving to places I'd never been before with a select few friends.

I got in to Photography, and always saw people taking photographs in strange and interesting places, abandoned buildings filled with things or filled with colourful graffiti.

I met another friend who had similar interests, and soon enough we began searching for these places. From there it kind of developed. He had much more sense of adventure and drive to find and explore more places though!

One of my earliest memories (while not pleasant to some!), was of a big sewer drain in the road, outside our house in Adelaide being blocked, and s*** was backing up all over the road. For about a week the road was closed and dug up and mum would take me out every day to watch them work. There was quite a large bricked sewer drain exposed, and equally large stormwater. From then on I was aware of another world existing under our feet I was compelled to explore it, and even made a career out of it.

I used to be fascinated with a big old drain near where I lived as a kid. As we were poor, the drain was entertainment to us. I also like the solitude of exploring. There are no rules down there.

when I was a kid some, time in the early-mid90s, the neighbours kids in there teens had heard of abyss lying pretty much under our feet.i was the smallest so i had to test it for them and when i slid into the main shaft and looked up through the grill to the sky, i was hooked, its addictive!

I love exploring pretty much any place, except for the deep sea. An unhealthy fear of sharks and drowning keep me out of the water most of the time. Then of course, there are the places where no one goes, or where you're not supposed to go. That's like even more awesome. After I heard about Chernobyl, I've been wanting to get a few friends and the equipment to explore that place for a few days. (No tours, tours are too boring.)

Tours of museums = boring.
Tours of art galleries = boring.
Tours of fire stations = mildly interesting.
Tours of Chernobyal = It'll knock your friggen socks off! Trust me, I've been twice.

Second time around I got to choose where I wanted to go. It's not a "and here is the cultural center and that's it" kind of tour. It is bloody amazing!
