Hi! I'm aRealPain, or Paint bucket, or Battery, my friends have many nicknames for me (please note that Paintbucket is unrelated to actual paint, I don't do graffiti and can't draw to save a life). My friends and I don't plan on meeting people, so I'd rather keep our real names hidden. We're all 14-15 as of 2024, and just starting to get into urbex. And, as mentioned in the title, we all live in Brisbane, and are finding locations to explore around there :)
I personally have only a small amount of experience with urbex, namely a stormwater drain quite near my house. I've also gone into construction sites of new houses in my suburb. I don't believe I have photos of either location, so you'll just have to trust me sorry :,)
I mostly do UE for the adventure, at least riskier places like the construction sites I mentioned earlier. The buzz you get when you know you're doing something you shouldn't is just nice, I can't really explain it any other way. In the case of the stormwater drain, I usually use it as a quiet place to just sit and chill for a while as it's not near any rivers and so is unnaffected by the tide, so as long as I go when theres no chance of rain it's pretty safe. Quite a few people do go in there including druggies, but I'm lucky enough to have only ever encountered someone else once. And that was a pretty nice experience, though we parted ways soon after.
I found this website while doing some research for locations (I had free time and wanted to see how much I could find in one night, it's currently past 1:30 am so I may have stayed up a tad too late XD. I read a couple posts on the bat cave and darkie in Brisbane and decided to join!
Honestly, I'm here to learn as much as I can about UE. Locations are nice and all but proper techniques, the history behind each tunnel, each abandoned building, thats great too. And who knows, I might share some of my adventures as well at some point! Though I only have a phone to take photos with.
Sorry for such a long post, I often find myself rambling when it comes to online forums. I look forward to interacting with the community here, and potentially making a few new friends!
Edit 1: Just realised theres an edit feature XD. Read through the newbies guide to a first post and changed my post to fit accordingly.
