Tags in drains

Always wondered what the general rules or feelings about tagging a drain. I've always thought its okay as long as it's not covering up other art or historic pieces. (Or any old drains) But if it's nothing but an RCP is it okay to write your name down with a texter or is that frowned upon? Thanks! :)

It used to be don't tag features or stuff like blue stone, however now days it doesn't seem to matter. People graff anywhere

Ah alright. Whenever I've done it, I've tried to make it small and put it on some regular concrete in the drain. Sucks that people tag over the good stuff tho ):

I'm not one to condone tagging/graffiti in any way... but:

Several councils have declared the entrances to major storm-water drains as approved graffiti zones.
Mitcham and Adelaide City Council (from memory). May be worth a quick Google to confirm which ones.
