I've been looking around for a good drain lifter for a while now and was wondering if any places like recces or Bunnings has them
i have seen the ones online but thought t was worth a shot asking here

Not sure of physical stores. I grabbed mine online. Is online not an option for you?

Online is the way to go, you can pick some up as cheap as $20 if you look hard enough.
Some modification may be required if you purchase internationally though, as the gatic slots differ from place to place. A quick job with the angle grinder worked for me.
And if you're handy with the tools you can always try making your own with some steel from bunnings.
