Tips/ideas on where to start for a total noob

Hi Everyone

I'm a total noob to all of this and wondered if someone can provide some tips on how/where to get started?
I know noone who could help me either
Are there any good websites that I could educate myself from?

Check for rain. If no rain, find a canal and walk until it goes underground!
