Have been fascinated by Urbex photos for ages and have finally decided to give it a go, just on the forum to look for somehwere to start in Sydney. Can only use public transport, no car, so must be within a couple of hours from the city.

If your looking at starting from scratch ( don't shoot me guys) have a look at joining a newbie expo that Cave Clan host (If you are over 18). It will teach you the ins and outs, how to socialise with other explorers (yes prior to our stubborn belief we are a different breed) and what to look out for when going in drains, buildings and other nasty places. Failing that go and give Balmain Leagues club a go. Its right next to a bus stop and presents many interesting challenges and whatnot
