Hi Aussie urbexers,

I'm a French guy in his mid-thirties, living in Paris. I've been exploring Paris catacombs network a lot, multiple underground limestone and sand quarries, abandonned railroad tunnels, factories, buildings and bunkers. Also did some other things once like a small part of sewers or crossing bridges by under, which I didn't really feel comfortable with as the catwalk was very rusty and with no handrail...

I'll be visiting your country in March 2017, 17-20/03 in Sydney and 22-27/03 in Melbourne.
I'd love to add some urban exploration to my trip and would be grateful if anyone felt like guiding me throughout his favorite spot.
I'm easygoing, friendly, discreet, not too clumsy, I can speak your language (even though I might have you repeat some sentences :)), and the drinks will be on me!

hey there kipple,

Welcome to are forums,

Just to say if you have any pictures of the sites u have visited I think I can talk for everyone when I say we would all love to see them (:

And for a expo I could take you around in melb for a day or two.
I'm a younger guy though so you might want to find someone else to go with or maybe get a few more ppl.
There should be plenty of ppl interested in taking you around melb though (:

Regards,

Bon Jour (which is better than billet de jour, unless you are catching le metro or train à grande vitesse)

Je parle seulement Français un peu. S'il vous plaît, pardonnez-moi

So I assume you have explored the catacombs? I miss them. It has been 8 years since I was last there. Do you know Stonga, or The Bat? They used to explore years ago. Stonga used to live down south in Pont De Sevres.

Anyway, I'm sure we can arrange something for you. We have plenty of sites that can be accessed legally, so we can show you around. There's the Sydney bunkers at Middle Head and south, the Hellensburg Railway tunnel (think of tunnels like in Chemin de fer de Petite Ceinture) near the catacomb entrance.

How are you for accommodation and transport? I expect we can drive you around some places. Not promising anything of course, as it will depend on other people as well. Maybe we could make this a NSW meetup? Or do you prefer smaller, quieter exploration?

Also, is there anything you particuarly want to see?
"Oh! That's YOUR web site!" ... "Yep, that one." http://www.uer.ca/urbanadventure/www.ur ... windex.htm

Thank you guys!

Promethues: I'll dig into my archives to find some pictures of different sites I visited in my country and will post them here (done, check my profile :)). If it can boost tourism in France... ;) Thank you for your offer of taking me around in Melbourne, I saw some pictures of drains on your profile, if you can show me some of them, it would be nice!

Panic!: catacombs are a very addictive playground, I understand you miss them! I don't know Stonga nor The Bat, sorry. I honestly don't know what is there to see around SYD and MEL; I saw pictures of an impressive power station, but I don't know where it is, when it was nor if it is still accessible. So I can't tell you what I want to see. I tend to like dark places, so anything underground attracts me; the Hellensburg railway tunnels you spoke about look pretty nice (and quite similar indeed to the Petite Ceinture in Paris :)). I won't have any personal mean of transportation and will stay in hotels/hostels in Sydney and Melbourne downtown areas. I understand you cannot promise anything, if anyone plans an exploration at the time I'm in your city and is OK to bring me along, that'll be fantastic, and if it doesn't happen, I'll still have a lot of more regular touristy things to do :)

Hi Panic!, if you read this post, I got your PM but am not authorised to reply nor compose a PM (I get this message : "We are sorry, but you are not authorised to use this feature. You may have just registered here and may need to participate more in discussions to be able to use this feature."). I can only read PMs but can't answer, very frustrating. Can you therefore give me an email address in a PM so I can get in touch with you? Thanks.
