Urbex/Hikyo in Japan

Just wondering if anyone knows of any Japanese urbex/haikyo websites, or have contacts in Japan?

My partner and I are heading there in 2017 and would love to see some cool places. We are there for a whole month and would love to have someone to show us some spots. I've searched around a bit and haven't had any luck yet.

Cheers.

Hey, when in 2017? I'm hoping to go there myself. Have been before, but just to Hashima.

Good to know. I will have to get back to you in the new year. It will depend on if I get a new job or not. I have a job, but a new one would mean an overseas posting.

Stacks of abando stuff to see in Japan, just google "Haikyo" to get loads of info. Very easy country to travel around in too. Just be aware that the authorities can be very harsh if you get caught anywhere you shouldn't be.

Try and visit G-Cans if you can, only open for a few weeks each year. Foreigners need to get a Japanese speaking guide due to H&S reasons.

Hey dross have to wait until end of march to see if they will be doing them again this year according to some help I've gotten. Since its a free government activity they have to see if they have the funding for it
Are you sure this is a good idea?

Our trip was fantastic and I would 100% go back to japan again!
Not as much haikyo as I would like but still good.

We went to an abandoned theme park, abandoned hotel, two abandoned love hotels and a small abandoned school. Also visited the Hiroshima a-bomb dome and drove around the Fukushima disaster area, which was very strange. So many bags of radioactive dirt...

After messaging probably 30 Japanese instagrammers who post urbex photos, one girl agreed to meet up with us even though she barely spoke English. We had to speak through google translate for most of the conversation. She mentioned that the Japanese are rather private with this hobby and that’s why no one wanted to meet up.

I’ll post some photos later, when I’m not on my phone. Absolutely recommend Japan to anyone and everyone!

I really enjoyed eating udon.
