The Middle Head bunkers are safe to explore during rain. Pretty much the reason why they were suggested, that and they are legal to explore. It is a pretty good site. Other than that bring an umbrella or rain coat.

Meet ups like this one are not so much about exploring, more about getting to know people.

It looks like it is going to rain tomorrow. I hate driving on the highway in the rain so I won't be coming. I will miss it, I really wanted to go to this. Have fun everyone.

Cheers for the great expo! Was nice to put some faces to names and explore some bunkers .
My +1 was LPFloyd on the fourms.

I'll post some photos up once I get my film processed, if there's anything worthy.
Looking forward to the next uega expo :)

A few pics of the day;

The crowd heads in to explore
268

Edging in
269

The former munitions storage area of Middle Head bunkers, all publicly accessible.
270

Dropping on in.
271

Bars.
272

Wow, did a Pokemon just appear on the ceiling?!
273

Day 1, our journey to the center of the Earth begins.
274

Day 2. So far we have descended 6 metres beneath the Earth.
275

The former tiger cage area. During the Vietnam War soldiers were brought down here and put in the tiger cages as part of torture training. I love how I timed this so the pole obscured a face.
276

The Rabbit Bunker, so called because a rabbit was once found in it;
http://www.uer.ca/urbanadventure/www.ur ... ddleb2.htm
277

Almost dancing into a bunker
278

These round gun emplacements would have held pop up guns that popped up to fire shot then used the recoil to pop down again.
279

Sighting tower as shown here; http://www.uer.ca/urbanadventure/www.ur ... owder3.htm
280

Gun emplacement with Dodger dodging his face away from the camera and somebody on top. (I'm so bad with names)
281

The gun emplacement. The areas at the back would have held a limited number of munitions while there was a lift to a small munitions storage room.
282

Beehive cannon base. This is really OLD! Older than me even.
283

Yours for $300 a night on Air B&B, 3 rooms with exclusive harbor views.
284
