So I was in Swoo.... I than get to the first slide.. So when I reached the first slide I had to put my torch in my mouth so that I could hold onto the ropes. After I get past the 3rd slide I start to get this metallic taste in my mouth. I unscrew the torch and it turns out the batteries had leaked and there was all this dust inside. Will I survive or will I die?

You will surely die, but not from this.
With the lights out, it's less dangerous

Get yourself a head-torch bro, and tetanus shots.

You can put a small dab of Vaseline on the battery contacts an between the batteries where they touch to prevent corrosion. But trust me, invest in a proper Cree LED torch with Li-on batteries (and charger). You can get a pretty decent kit like the one below for around $20...

2200LM Zoomable CREE XM-L T6 LED HeadLamp Bicycle Torch Headlight Rechargeable

Price: AU $21.98

If the batteries were alkaline, then they leak potassium hydroxide. This can cause skin/eye/mucous membrane irritation (from alkaline burns) and respiratory issues. Washing your mouth out with clean water would be best emergency thing to do, though this advice is a bit late. You'll probably be fine, but if you start to feel unwell see a doctor.

Now go out and buy a headlamp!

There are ways of using both at the same time.
But you're are better off with a head-torch and a hand held camera. If you drop the camera you wont die, but if you drop a torch at the wrong moment it could be bad.
