Hey everyone, hope you are all having a good week so far and are staying safe.

I've been looking at some gear and I've decided on the gear I would like to get.

Do you prefer shopping at a local store or online?

If online, what are some great websites I can have a look at?

Thanks,

Coastexplorer

Probably depends on what gear you're referring to!

I've found online (e.g. eBay) to have better prices if you know exactly what you're looking for.

I reckon eBay is the go. Local shops lack much selection, at least in terms of non-photography gear. You can buy your camera equipment locally though, that way you get a warranty and still don't spend too much money.

best brick and mortar shops for cameras in SEQ (from my experience only of course)
are cameras direct at labrador or digital camera warehouse at annerley for everyday prices, but keep an eye on jb/harvey norman etc for specials

There is also DigiDirect in Brisbane CBD, good selection and they're doing a good price for me on 2 lens's.

+1 for Digi Direct. They will price match online prices with manufacturer warranties.

Be careful buying torches on eBay, if price is too good to be true, it's probably fake!

digiDirect are pretty good, they brought down the price of a lens $100 below sticker price - but couldn't close to match an online importer (to be expected tbh).
+1 for Digital Camera Warehouse.

(LED) Torches on eBay/Aliexpress/Banggood are usually sold with shitty non-QA LEDs in my experience. Sometimes its enough, sometimes not.
