Hi Guys,

New to URBEX and well, fairly new to forums too. I'm a really keen amateur photographer. I have a long list of places I would like to go and sus out but fairly cautious as well. I really like abandoned places and was pretty upset to find that Anzol is fully gone now. I worked locally to it for years and didn't even pay attention until it was gone. The coal yards close by would have also been great.

I've recently checked out a couple of schools. I tried to have a look around R.F the other week but it seems pretty hard to get into, if anyone has some tips I'd love to know.

I'm really looking forward to extending my URBEX experience through everyone!

Welcome to the forum buddy :) I'll be back up in Sydney next week if you want to explore. Planning on taking a couple of newbies out the day after I attend the newbies expo (oh, the irony!). Not planning to visit any of the larger sites, so probably just going to be 2 days of draining, but I'm open to anything as long as it's relatively central :) Definitely going to check out Eternity to get my revenge for last week (accidentally did Deep Throat instead... whoops), so if you're wanting to come along to that, should be fun.

Do you have any photos to show us? What gear do you use?

My biggest tip for finding abandoned places is to drive around a lot. It's the most fun if you find them yourself :) If you're interested in drains, there are a lot of relatively public drain maps; doesn't take too much digging to find.

Thanks. Unfortunately I'll be away next weekend. I haven't really thought too hard about trains. I do like the large old style colonial ones rather than simple long tunnels but I'm always up for trying new things.

I've just set up a flickr account. Have a look at the albums here ----> https://www.flickr.com/photos/132569991@N08/albums

I'm happy for people to let me know what they think. I've recently been trying my hand at some HDR but mainly like to try a bunch of new stuff to get better over time.

I'm currently using a Canon 7D. I usually shoot with the 17-55mm with it being so versatile but I also use a 10-22mm and at times can't get away from the 50mm f1.4
