Welcome! That was a very nice informative intro.
I'm sure you'll find some fellow brisbanites that would love to explore with you.
May I just query on your age?
Thanks, Echo.

Welcome to the forum buddy :3 I'd be down for some exploration next time I get up to Brissy, but it likely won't be until late May unfortunately :(
Regardless, the Brisbane UEGA members are generally pretty friendly and I'm sure some of them would be down for some exploration with you.

What kind of camera do you use? What gear do you use (camera gear as well as torches, boots/shoes, etc.)? What have you explored in Brissy already? Are you interested in drains, abandos, rooftops or other? Do you have a Flickr, or are your photos available to view anywhere else?

Sorry for the QnA, I just figured it'd open up some interesting discussion, allowing you to mesh with other forum members a little easier. I guess I'm a cupid, of sorts :P

Camera: 5D and a few lens and flash and remotes and other assorted stuff.
Torches: a few.
Footwear: just runners but if the occasion calls for it i have steal caps that i can drag out.

Most of the places I've been to in Brisbane are abandon and a few drains but just ones that are easy to get in and out with out to much drama, im keen on the roof tops as well haven't really done that and would love to get a few shots from high above.

As for links this is most of my Urbex stuff in once place but i haven't really uploaded much there for a wile as it gone to Insta.... link below.

I'm also in Sydney at least once a year so if im floating around I'll keep you posted.

Hope that helps.

Cheers.

Damn dude those photos are awesome. You should post some threads if you have any particular photo sets that you think people would be interested in seeing.

And a 5D? Those things are solid. Have had the pleasure of seeing one in action and the shots they produce are amazing.

In terms of your visits, I'm assuming places like Burford's, Brisbane Darkie, Wacol Mental Asylum, places like those? There are a few Brisbanites (might be Clan members, but there may also be a couple of UEGA members too) that are really into cranes and the sort. I've often seen groups of them out on Friday nights during the footy, so if you've got the balls for that (I personally don't), you could look into that. Alternatively, there are plenty of easy-access roofs around Brisbane, especially in the Valley (except obviously the ones in the Valley aren't overly high, but still good). You should think about getting a Flickr up and going, it seems to be the preferred means of photo sharing around these 'ere parts. Anyway nice meeting you, best of luck :)

You got caught out in Wacol? Huh, that's interesting. I've been there a couple of times and haven't even seen security. It's probably worth a second shot imo, just make sure you a) have a cover story for being in the grounds and b) go straight through the fence and into the asylum. If you hang around outside of the fenced area you'll draw some attention, but it's a pretty cool place to check out and there are some really great snaps you can take.

You can just post a thread in the most suitable section (usually Aus Urban Exploration, but read the descriptions) and read this thread on how to post images: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1826
