Hey,
I am new to urbex and know hardly anything about it. I live in the Western Suburbs, Werribee and I have already discovered my suburbs underground tunnel network. Nothing too special about it though! There are a few things I need help with that hopefully you guys can aid me in understanding.
1. What are some technical words relating to urbex that I should know and what do they mean.
2. How do you guys find these places and drains. Any specific places to look?
and finally:
3. Any good places to go to in Melbourne, Western Suburbs and surrounding areas?
Thanks so much, look forward to being on here.

Welcome to the forums! You'll learn more as you go, but there's nothing much to it really apart from enjoying the ride.

Drains. It means they're dangerous when it's raining.

Easiest way is to get lost or at least decently out of your normal route. Take a different bus to school/work and keep an eye out for abandonments, drains and canals. If you have a bicycle or a car, even better, go for a ride where you don't normally go past. The fun part is finding something really awesome when you don't expect it. hashtag explorin'

Have a read in the AUS Urban Exploration section for some awesome stuff and check out your local forum here to find any meetups. You can also organise your own explores. Easiest way to find new locations.

Happy exploring!
