Animal Research

Went for a solo run to do some animal research. I hadn't visited for a couple of years. I took my time and wasn't seen...
Apparently they have cameras now? Pretty well hidden as far as I could tell, wasn't really scoping for any though. Managed a quick few shots before I made friends with the locals who made mention they'd seen me on cam. Just thought I'd make a quick mention for anyone venturing that way. Managed about 5 images before the locals turned up and asked me to leave. Place is well boarded up now with fresh locks. I'll link a photo or two later.

Couldn't make head or take of this post. Where is this place? By locals do you mean security? Pics or it didn't happen.
Also I like peanuts.
Wander often. Wonder always.

I've got no idea what they have planned for that place. I see it everyday but never been in.

Peanuts give me a slight rash but I don't mind Vegemite. Yea I posted rather vague because I thought this forum didn't like addresses? (I'm new here) I really don't like handing out addresses due to little kids hurting themselves or people painting dicks on walls. Locals could be security I guess or bogans it was in outer Brisbane but these locals were a combo bogan security guards.
Photos aren't a problem if you want.
I was only posting this to help those that may know of the place and may be unaware of the cameras. Ahh f*** I just ate a caramello I think they have traces of nuts.

I think it's about to be redeveloped, I think I read they may retain some of the old buildings.

It's heritage listed so it's being restored as a part of the SuburbName master development project. It'll be a "heritage precinct".
I believe it's also alarmed. Lots of it has been cleared out now though...

Think I managed a snap with a camera in it. Smaller black motion sensor type cams. Quite small, noticeable.. I just didn't have my head in the game, thought nothing of checking for cams as there were none last time.

It is most likely because people have pasted it all over the Internet so everyone with a spray can wants to visit it - which is evident.

I'g going to resurrect this thread just to tell the story of how I messed up. So I had been one time ages ago back when it was all covered in graff and didn't have any issues. Second time I went back was maybe a year ago after all of the cameras went in (Not that I was aware of that) with some friends that had asked me about it. Safe to say I knew about the cameras after a police officer informed me of them after they accepted we weren't there to vandalise the place (Which is harder when you dont have your cameras on you). In case anyone wanted to know, the response time was about 15 minutes at 10pm.
Kids need to stop lighting things on fire or I'm gonna get arrested.

Screw it - only an idiot would attempt this one, therefore; here are some more images.

1. This kiln in the grounds was for burning bodies.
Image

2. This was the morgue for *storing* bodies.
Image

3. The rear of A Block.
Image

4. The neglected, overgrown side of A Block.
Image

5. The front door to A Block.
Image

After sussing out A Block and "finding no way in" we went over to D Block? and found a wide open door.

6. Even though we couldn't access any of these offices.
Image

7. Decorative archway in the possibly-named D Block. Those photos I posted above are in this building.
Image

8. "Dude there is no way in"
Image

9. My arse there was no way in. The corridors were lined with all of these photos of animals and insects with diseases and information about their impact on agriculture, which would make sense because despite the name this was more of a facility dedicated to the research of introduced species and how they'd adapt to Queensland's environment, as opposed to simply researching on animals but that sounds like a load of horse arse to me. Some hobo had also taken a s*** in here and must have, stepped in it? It was in chunks all the way from one end of the building to the other.
Image

10. This has been abandoned since 2011, two years after its heritage listing. There were lots of facilities on site but they were all bulldozed leaving only these two left and the morgue, kiln and other parts I couldn't access, or remember (this is two years ago). Garfield wanted to stop for a smoke in a conference we found trashed with meaningless throwies - no surprise this place is now laced in cameras.

11. Inside the front door.

12. With this plaque to the left as soon as you walk in.
