I recall those gasworks when I was last in Launceston, damn they looked incredible. Has anyone got photos of the interior? It looked beyond incredible.

Interior is pretty meh, full of pigeon crap and dust. Some interesting bits of machinery though. The exterior is so picturesque. I'll try and dig up some photos.

Poor place was all messed up due to vandals the last time I was there. These photos are from a year or two ago. Nothing impressive. I don't even know if the place is still standing or not. If it is and you intend on climbing around inside of the main building, be very careful on the ladders. They're super flimsy.

Hey thanks for the pictures that place looks awesome! Last time I was in Launny was Dec 2011 and it was standing then so ... I'm assuming its heritage listed, those Tasmanian's love their heritage. Awesome sneak peak! Thanks :)

Can't see the photo's in this thread, the Gasworks is now a restaurant "Hogs Breathe", there are some silo's on the other side of the river that are going to be turned into a hotel, worth a look, cameras there, if you can't see the silo's passing over the bridge you must be blind :)

Shame those pics have disappeared, here's what it looks like now

There are a couple of small but interesting buildings in close proximity to the site if you're there already

As for the silos, any update on the works going on there?
I didn't notice any cameras but then again it was a pretty quick in/out visit, access to the stairs was locked
